The reason to have one here is that these things are the same records seen from different sides: the room you let out is the thing you invoice for, the kit that went to the job is the cost of that job, the person who bought a ticket is the person who bought a product. More tools mean more copies of your customer list and a month-end spent making them agree. Where a specialist tool is genuinely better and you already have it, keep it — we'd rather you kept it than pretended otherwise.

No — that's who it's built for. If you're taking orders in DMs, sending a UPI QR, and keeping the rest in a notebook, the jump is smaller than you think: a page customers can order from, payments that match themselves to orders, and one list you can actually count. You don't have to stop selling on Instagram. Most people keep the DMs and just stop retyping everything afterwards.

If your shop is all you run, honestly you may not need to — Shopify runs a shop well, and 'we're newer' is not a reason. The case for moving is when the shop is only part of it: you also let out rooms or desks, you have equipment going out to jobs, you run workshops, you sell through a maker or a partner and have to split the takings, or you're paying for four tools that don't know about each other.

Yes. Checkout runs on Razorpay, so UPI, cards, netbanking and wallets all work, and the money goes to your account through your own gateway. A customer can buy as a guest without making an account, and look their order up afterwards without a password — which is where a lot of small shops quietly lose people.

Yes, and a building doing two of them at once isn't a special case — you can label floors 1–3 a hotel and 4–6 a hostel and each floor's rooms take their own label. A bed, a desk, a hall, a bay and a shelf are the same kind of thing to the system: a place you let out. You can also price a place and publish it to a public page a guest browses, filters and books on without an account — that part is live. The honest limits are that there are no occupancy or RevPAR figures, rent isn't invoiced or collected here, and reservations are by the day rather than the hour. /spaces lays all of that out.

Yes to both — issuing, returning, service history and depreciation all work, and the person holding something accepts it themselves so it isn't one person's claim. You add and edit assets yourself, and you can bring a spreadsheet across through the import wizard, mapping your own column headings. You can also print QR labels, run a stock-take against the register, and see net book value across the fleet on one screen. What's missing is a phone-camera scanner — a handheld scanner or typing the code works today. /assets is straight about the rest.

Yes, and this is the part most tools don't do. A product, a workshop ticket and a booking can sit in the same basket, go through the same payment page, and land in the same list of orders. What it does not yet do is join the people up for you: if someone buys a ticket in March and a product in June, those are two orders, and we won't pretend the system knows it's the same person. We're building that; it isn't built.

Partly, and the split matters. Multiple stores, separate stock per location, and franchisee records with their own logins and their own limited view are all there, as is recruiting franchisees end to end — application, scoring, discovery day, disclosure with the cooling-off period enforced, territories, and royalty worked out per outlet. Collecting that royalty and paying it out is a conversation with us rather than a switch you flip, because moving other people's money has rules attached.

The honest limit: reporting across a whole portfolio is thinner than reporting inside one business.

Not yet, and you'd find that out for yourself in about a minute so there's no point pretending. Self-serve checkout is built and works end-to-end — we're deliberately keeping it switched off while we set up each of our first handful of businesses by hand, so for now getting started still means a conversation with us. Free accounts and the product itself work today; it's us being selective, not something unfinished.

Not on an ordinary sale. A product, a ticket or a booking sold through your own checkout carries no percentage to us — you pay the monthly plan and nothing else. There is one exception and it is in our Terms rather than hidden: a Network Venture, where several organisations share one line of business and split the proceeds. There a joint-venture fee comes off the top before the members' shares are worked out — 5% unless your venture sets its own rate, set per venture and visible there. If you never run one, it never applies to you.

Yes, though we raise our own subscription invoice by hand today — it carries a serial number and a single tax line rather than the full CGST/SGST split. Worth separating from the other question your accountant will ask: for your OWN sales the product does raise GST-valid tax invoices with the CGST/SGST/IGST split, holds your GSTINs, assembles the GSTR boxes from those invoices, prepares e-way bills, tracks input tax credit and runs TDS from deduction to challan to a Form 16 draft. We prepare and show the working; sending any of it to the government portal is you or your professional.

Nobody. Every business on Ojas is walled off from every other one at the level of the data itself, not by a setting someone can get wrong — a request for another business's records doesn't come back refused, it comes back as though the record doesn't exist. Your team see what you decide they see, and you set that per person.

You take your data and go, and here is the unflattering detail rather than the slogan. Contacts, leads, deals and your asset register have real export jobs behind them — you start one, watch it row by row and download the file. Products and orders don't yet: that is an extract we run for you. So leaving is a request you make of us, not a button you press, and we'd rather you knew that now than read 'export anytime' and discover the difference on your way out.

We are. Ojas Events, Ojas Legal and Ojas Loans are real businesses of ours run on exactly this. That tells you the thing works; it does not tell you it works for you. You'd be among the first outside businesses on it, which is why we're doing this properly with a handful of people rather than quietly signing up as many as we can.

Yes — that's the whole idea. You run the business. The shop, the orders, the payments, the books and the rest run underneath it, so you get the reach of a proper operations team without hiring one. Setting up is us sitting with you, not a wizard you're left alone with.

No app yet — it works in a phone browser, and that's genuinely all it is today. Connections do work in both directions: you can point Ojas at your own systems with outgoing webhooks, and you can issue yourself an API key from your organization settings to call Ojas from your side, scoped to a role you choose. The honest caveat is coverage: about one route in eight accepts a key today — CRM, leads, contacts, attendance and timesheets, events, the asset register and data exports among them — and the storefront and checkout core doesn't yet, only a signed-in session does. We never transmit them: reaching the government portal needs an accreditation we don't hold, and we won't automate around that.
