sve sve karmaṇy abhirataḥ saṃsiddhiṃ labhate naraḥ“Each devoted to their own work, a person attains perfection.”
Read here of a place as well as a person: a place is at its best when it is built for what it is.
What is the essential nature of this place, and what conditions does life in it require?
Much building today treats a site as interchangeable — the same glass box in a hot plain and a cold hill, farmland turned into a grid of plots. This question starts the other way round: read the site's climate, soil, slope and sun before drawing anything on it.

Read the site before drawing the plan. The texts keep the centre of the house — the Brahmasthāna — open; in a hot climate an open courtyard there also brings daylight and air into a deep plan.
A place for a longer stay should feel like one: quiet at night, shaded, with gardens and rooms made for rest rather than a ward.
Farm with the land's own soil, water and climate, and keep cattle breeds suited to the region.
Set the household shrine in the north-east, where the Bṛhat Saṃhitā places it (52.116 in Kern's numbering; 53.118 in Sastri–Bhat).
Keep a study hall for study: a quiet room where teacher and student can work without interruption.

Your own vocabulary
Name your place types and nest them. A 'Bed' and a 'Bay' are yours to define.
Nothing double-booked
Mark a place bookable and its unit is created for you. The same bed can't be promised twice; the database refuses.
Residents and their terms
Track a resident against a bed or flat. Hold and release a deposit, each posting into real books.
People and responsibility
Record the warden or manager against a place, with dates, and group residents into communities.
A page a guest can book on
Put a rate on a place and publish it. A guest filters, checks live availability and pays: no account, no login.

Each listing sets its own unit and minimum stay. Hourly places book a start hour and a run of free hours.

Occupancy and revenue figures
Bookings, availability and deposits are on screen. An occupancy percentage, RevPAR, average daily rate and yield per property are not started.

Deposits are held and written to your books. Raising and collecting recurring rent is not started.
Common questions
How does this fit IKS Living?
Place management, public booking and double-booking prevention run here, and a place's console page saves Vāstu plans. The almanac runs in the Pujavani apps; letting its timings run a place is not started.
A hostel and a coworking floor in one building. Does that work?
Yes. Label floors 1–3 as a hotel and 4–6 as a hostel; each floor's rooms take the nearest label above them. The same install covers your godown, since a shelf and a bed are the same kind of thing.
Can this manage gurukulas, gośālās and retreats?
Yes. Place types are editable data, so you define study maṇḍapas, Panchakarma suites or paddocks, and record who is responsible for each.
Can residents or guests book online themselves?
Yes. Publish a place at a rate and a guest with no account filters, checks live availability and pays through the same checkout; hourly places book by the hour. The page lives on a domain we point at your listings.
What happens to the deposit money?
It is recorded against the resident's term and written to your books as money you owe back; releasing it writes the other side. Taking a deposit by card or UPI isn't wired to this.
We manage buildings for other owners. Can each be kept separate?
Yes. Each business on Ojas is walled off from every other, and a place belongs to the brand and venture you choose within yours.
