Rural places where knowledge becomes a working business.
Ojas Care is the living-campus venture: places in rural India where a knowledge institution can teach, a practitioner can practise and a farmer can produce — and where all three can earn from it lawfully. Ojas supplies the ground, the records and the money rails; the knowledge belongs to the people who hold it. One capability inside that is built and running today: publishing a room, bed, desk, hall or homestay to a public page a stranger can browse and book. The campus around it is scoped in detail and has not been started.
- Stays, beds, desks & halls — live
- Public browse and book — live
- Campus, animals & laboratory — unbuilt
Read the two halves separately, because they are not equally real. The commercial half — publishing a place, taking a booking, recording the money — is built and reachable. The biological half — animals, instruments, laboratories, farm records — is zero lines of code. Nothing on this page should be read as evidence that Ojas can run a herd, a field or a laboratory today.
The ground and the rails. Not the knowledge.
A campus needs somewhere to sleep, somewhere to work, somewhere to gather, and a way to be paid for all three without anyone doing arithmetic at month end. That is the part Ojas builds, and it is the part that exists. What a campus teaches — the courses, the cohorts, the certifications — belongs to the knowledge institution that already does that work and does it better than a software company would. Ojas composes with it rather than competing with it.
For an operator with places to let
LivePut a homestay, a co-living room, a bed, a desk or an event lawn on a public listing with live availability, take the booking and the payment, and have the sale recorded on one set of books you can open at any time. The owner/caretaker split is not something we work out for you.
For the campus itself
Scoped, not builtThe herd, the fields, the instruments and the laboratory that would make a campus’s claims measurable rather than asserted. This is written down in detail and built nowhere. No campus has been authorised, funded or begun, and we would rather say so than imply a pilot exists.
What you can actually use today
Four things that work now. Two of them a stranger reaches without an account; two are the operator’s side of the same booking.
Nine families of place, 32 place types: Accommodation, workplace, healthcare, events, residential, education, recreation, logistics and retail — and a floor can carry a different one from the floor above it. There is no cattle, shed, pen or paddock type in that list.
A public listing with live availability: Filter by type and place, open a detail page, see what is free and book it — no account required to look. Running on ojas.care today.
Bookings recorded on one set of books: A trial balance, a profit-and-loss and a balance sheet you can open for any period, over the same ledger every other part of Ojas posts into.
Card and UPI at the checkout: Razorpay at the checkout for card, UPI and netbanking; an operator can also raise an order by hand for a transfer taken offline.
Not there: dividing a booking between an owner and a caretaker, or paying either of them out; digital door keys; and any occupancy or yield figure.
Six layers, and only three of them exist
Live means a route, a screen and a person who can open it. Scoped means written down and not started. Unbuilt means zero files — we checked rather than guessed.
One tree for every kind of place
Site, building, floor, hall, room, bed, desk, rack, shelf — one self-nesting tree addresses them all, across nine families of place, 32 place types and the structural levels, bookable spaces and allocatable units beneath them: 67 rows of vocabulary in all. A floor can be a hostel while the floor above it is a hotel. There is no cattle shed, pen or stall in that vocabulary yet.
A public page a stranger can book
Publish a room, bed, desk, hall or homestay and it appears on a filterable public listing with live availability, a detail page and an express booking widget. No account needed to browse. Live on ojas.care today.
Bookings land in one set of books
A paid booking is recorded, and you can open a trial balance, a profit-and-loss and a balance sheet for any period. Working out an owner's or a caretaker's share of that booking is not built — there is no share to configure and nothing divides it for you.
The campus itself
A rural place where a knowledge institution teaches, a practitioner practises and a farmer produces — with the stays and spaces as one capability inside it, not its definition. Scoped in detail; nothing built. No campus has been authorised, funded or begun.
Animals, land and instruments
Herd identity, lineage, health and nutrition records; sensors and the ingestion rail that makes a living system observable; soil, water and fodder registers. This is the half a campus turns on, and it is zero files today — no animal model, no device model, no time-series store.
Laboratories and evidence
Sample chain of custody, assays, results held as durable auditable data — the part that would let a traditional practice be measured rather than asserted. Nothing exists behind this: no sample, no test, no batch genealogy, no result.
For the people who run the places, and the people who use them
Two sides of the same rails. Each point below is marked Live or Not built, because half of each list is one and half is the other.
Run rooms, beds, desks and halls from one screen
LiveOne self-nesting tree holds site, building, floor, room, bed and desk, across nine families of place. Floors 1-3 can be a hostel and 4-6 a hotel, and each floor's rooms take their own label — a mixed-use building is not a special case.
Put a place on a public page a stranger can book
LiveA filterable public listing, a detail page with live availability, and an express booking widget — no account needed to browse. Running on ojas.care today.
A settled booking lands on your books
LiveA paid booking is recorded against the order it came from, and shows up in the trial balance, profit-and-loss and balance sheet you can open for any period — rather than being reconstructed from statements at month end.
Guest records kept apart from every other operator
LiveYour guests are yours. Another operator asking for one of your records gets a not-found, not a glimpse — that isolation is in the software, not a policy we promise to follow.
Splitting a booking, and paying a caretaker out
Not builtThere is no owner's share or caretaker's share to configure anywhere in the software, and nothing works one out for you. A booking settles to a single payee; dividing it, and sending the money, are both still yours.
Digital door keys and occupancy figures
Not builtNeither exists anywhere in the software. No key issuance, and no occupancy, RevPAR or yield number — the figures a hotelier would ask for first are the ones we cannot give.
Your guests’ details stay private
Letting a room means holding sensitive information about the person in it. Each line below separates what the software enforces today from what is a commitment we have not yet had to keep — because those two things are usually printed as if they were the same.
Seen only by your house — enforced
Every operator's records are walled off in the software itself. Another operator asking for one of your guests gets a not-found, never a glimpse.
Encrypted in transit — enforced
What travels between a guest, your screen and the server is encrypted. Encrypted storage of ID and address proofs is a design commitment for the guest-document feature, which is not built yet.
Designed around the DPDP Act
Consent capture, tenant isolation and a not-found on an out-of-tenant read are in the software. A full DPDP compliance programme — grievance officer, breach reporting, consent-manager integration — is not something we have, and we will not imply otherwise.
The businesses we run, and the one thing they all sell through
Selling sits at the centre — the shop, the orders, the payments and the books. Every business we run sells through that same middle, which is why one sign-in carries your account, your team and your data across all of them.

What every one of them sells through
Your shop, your orders and getting paid — a catalogue customers can browse, stock that can’t be sold twice, UPI at checkout, and books kept straight to the last rupee. It is what every business we run sells through, ours included.

Have a place to let, or a campus in mind?
If you run a homestay, a hostel, a co-working floor or an event lawn, the rails on this page work today and we would like to put your place on them. If you are thinking about a campus, that conversation is a longer one and we would rather have it honestly — you would be among the first, and we have no customer to point you at.
